Woodlands Market
AWARDS AND PRESS
Over
the years, Woodlands Market has continued to receive accolades from
not only our loyal customers, but also from local and national
publications who take surveys to rate purveyors of fine foods. Here
are a couple of examples of awards we have won in the past. We are
committed to maintaining the same high levels of quality and service so
that we will not only keep winning awards, but more importantly keep YOU -
our loyal customers - completely satisfied.
Some of you have commented:
"Great service, personal attention,
a fabulous selection of unique foods and they support the community
and public schools. There is no reason to shop anywhere else!"
"Woodlands Market prepared foods
are the finest excuse for not cooking I've ever found!"
We are sincerely grateful for the kind words and support. We fully
intend to continue delivering the type of top notch service and quality
of selection that has earned your patronage thus far. Woodlands Market
is not a chain grocery store, nor is it run through an absentee corporate
structure unfamiliar or out of touch with the wants and needs of local
residents. Rather, Woodlands Market is as much a product of the Marin
environs as the morning fog which gently tumbles down the sides of Mt.
Tam. That our sense of gratitude toward Marin is not unrequited gives
us all a sense of fulfillment and pleasure.
Woodlands Voted "Outstanding
Retailer of 2006"
Woodlands Market is very proud to announce our
store has been selected as one of the Outstanding Retailers of
2006 by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade
(NASFT). We were one of only five retailers across the country to
be nominated and selected by the 2,390 members of the NASFT.
From Specialty Food Magazine: "At
this serene solar-powered store in California…The focus is on
quality, particularly in perishables. Woodlands offers
restaurant-quality prepared foods – the market has chefs on site
preparing 50 entrees a day; more than 350 varieties of fresh fruits
and vegetables, Niman Ranch meats; an extensive cheese selection and
an array of specialty foods."
“The NASFT Outstanding Retailer Award
recognizes what we do on a daily basis” notes Gary Grossetti,
Woodlands Market General Manager.
We would like to thank the members of the NASFT
for this honor, and extend our appreciation to our employees and
customers for your contributions toward making Woodlands Market one
of the Outstanding Retailers of 2006.

"Community involvement and local school support have been an integral
part of our business since we opened, and the eScrip program provides
an ideal way to expand that program," noted Don Santa, owner of
Woodlands Market. "We feel we are a leader in community support,
as our up to 6% participation level is substantially higher than
the normal 3% to 4% participation level for other merchants."
Woodlands' community support programs are unique among retailers in that
the store does no membership cards, advertising or coupons and instead
commits that part of its marketing budget to local schools and other
community organizations.
