Woodlands Market Contributes to Officer Bob

The Santa Family is pleased to announce that Officer Bob Day (June 8) at Woodlands Market resulted in a contribution of $5000 to a fund established to defray the medical expenses for Aden Besgrove, the two-year-old grandson of Ross Town police officer Bob Besgrove.

The contribution was based on the pledge of 5% of the gross receipts from sales at the Market.  “We are proud to have initiated this support for Officer Bob on behalf of the Market and our family,” said Don Santa.  “As members of the community and parents, we recognize how much he means to the safety and security of all the children who attend the Ross School.”

Office Bob, who has provide safety and security at the Ross School since 1994, has assumed primary responsibility for the medical care of Aden, who was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year.

“I am overwhelmed by the community support for Aden,” he said.  “He’s a tough little boy and he’s trying his best to get the ‘bad bugs’ out of his blood.  Children understand a lot more than adults give them credit for.  He is very aware of what he needs to do and what the doctors are doing for him.”

Speaking on behalf of the Santa Family, Woodlands Market founder/owner Don Santa said, “Every child, including mine, who has gone to the school in the past 15 years knows and loves Officer Bob.  And every parent in our Town knows that he is a special person and how lucky we are to have him protecting our children.  The Santa Family and Woodlands Market are proud to be able to help him care for Aden.”
